Position Title: Part-Time Cheer Coach
Reports to: Athletic Director / Head of School
Employment Type: Part-Time, Seasonal
Practice Schedule: Mondays and Wednesdays, 1.5 hours each session
Job Summary: Holy Spirit Episcopal School is seeking an energetic, organized, and enthusiastic Part-Time Cheer Coach to lead our cheerleading program for students in PreK 4 through 8th grade. The cheer coach will foster school spirit and teamwork while developing age-appropriate cheer, dance, and performance routines for school events and athletic games.
Essential Duties
- Lead practices twice a week (Mondays and Wednesdays) for 1.5 hours each.
- Develop routines appropriate for a mixed-age squad, including:
- Performances for at least one game per sport season.
- Appearances at three school open houses per year.
- A dance routine along with cheers at the homecoming pep rally and game (includes a parent-student performance).
- Supervise the assistant cheer coach, providing clear direction and support.
- Communicate weekly with cheer families and teachers regarding practice schedules, event details, and expectations.
- Measure, collect sizing information, collect payment, and place orders for uniforms and necessary cheer equipment.
- Ensure student safety during practices and events, adhering to school policies and best practices for student supervision.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive team environment that aligns with the values of Holy Spirit Episcopal School.
Qualifications
- Prior experience coaching or participating in cheerleading or dance, especially with young children and adolescents.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with school staff, students, and families.
- Enthusiastic, dependable, and committed to creating a fun, respectful, and disciplined team culture.
- CPR/First Aid certifi cation preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- Background check clearance required.
Compensation
Coaching stipend will commensurate with experience. This is a part-time, seasonal position aligned with the school’s academic and athletic calendar.
