If you’ve walked in the front door at Holy Spirit, you’ve had your “Day” brightened by our sunny receptionist. Carolyn Day joined Holy Spirit in 2012 as an art teacher, and transitioned to the front-desk position in 2021. With a BFA in architectural design from Mississippi University for Women, she has designed hotels and restaurants, forecasted color trends for the textile industry, and taught art at both HISD’s T.H. Rogers School and at Holy Spirit. While working as an educator, Ms. Day earned certifications in G/T and ESL, and was awarded fellowships with the Houston Teachers Institute and the Rice East Asia Institute. When she’s not keeping the front office running smoothly, you can find her serving on the Houston Symphony Arts Education Committee, mentoring for Girl Scouts of America, playing cards, watching movies, and painting.
