Back to School
Health and Safety
With the new developments announced in our area, we wanted to share the Back to School Health and Safety Plan, based on current recommendations due to the COVID-19 surge. Please review the details as your family prepares to return on campus.
The school task force, in collaboration with the medical advisory board and local health officials, will re-evaluate this Addendum in approximately four weeks to adapt restrictions as needed. However, these policies and procedures are subject to change at any time as the situation evolves. Rest assured that we will notify you of any changes that occur.
During the Zoom Parent Orientation, each division will explain the details and logistics of the Back to School Plan for parents to understand the dynamic for every grade level.
We hoped to start a new school year without restrictions and with the ability to resume "back to normal" activities, but given the circumstances, additional precautions are necessary to protect our beloved community from the risk of spread and to provide on-campus instruction for students. Your safety will always be our top priority!

Virtual Parent Orientation
To prepare families for the start of school, we offered a virtual and in-person orientation, each with a different focus. During the virtual meeting, parents had the opportunity to hear details of the learning programs, classroom dynamics, safety policies and procedures, and expectations for the start of the new school year. This event is designed to assist parents in preparing their children for the first day of school.
The Handbook for 2021-2022 is now available. Please review all the sections and resources for all parent and student resources.

Student health records must be in the school clinic by the first day of school. Review the forms listed and submit all paperwork to the nurses electronically or at In-person Orientation.
The following forms apply to students in every division, from infants to 8th grade. Your child will not be admitted to school until the Health Form and the Immunization Records are filed in the nurse's office.
Health Form and Immunization Records
Parents and a physician must sign the Health Form before the start of each school year. Bring this health form to the physician's office during the examination to complete all fields. Also request a copy of the Immunization Records signed by the physician and attach to the Health Form.

Middle School Athletics Participation Form
Middle School students that try out and participate in a school athletic team must provide a Sports Physical Evaluation and Authorization Form. Youth Sports teams participate in balanced, but competitive league play for basketball, baseball, softball, and t-ball. Parent involvement is important to the success of the Youth Sports Program. Teams are coached by parent volunteers in partnership with team parents, who offer additional support. HSES Youth Sports Program is a member of the West Houston Christian Sports Association.
