The Child Enrichment Center provides a warm loving Christian environment in which the Holy Spirit School's youngest students can grow and explore the world around them. The curriculum for these students, whose ages range from 6 weeks to 2 ½ years of age, is centered around age-appropriate development activities and social interaction. The small number of children in each classroom and the low ratio between instructors and students ensures that the children receive individual nurturing and attention. Care is provided from each weekday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. throughout the year. Flexible scheduling is available to meet the needs of our families.
Infants (6 weeks to 11 months)
Focus is placed on consistent and loving responsiveness to each infant's physical, emotional, and developmental needs. Activities in the Infant Room include multi-sensory stimulation, gross and fine motor skill development, and exploratory play.
Mobile Infants (11 to 18 months)
Little ones in this age group are very busy learning about mobility through walking and running! Other development goals of these classrooms are encouragement of self-feeding, awareness of others, and basic vocalization skills. The classroom environment is rich with possibilities to explore through music, play, storytelling, and outdoor activities.
Toddlers (18 to 36 months)
Group and individual activities in the toddler classrooms center around the expansion of the children's verbal and non-verbal communication skills, as they learn to interact with their peers in a more structured environment. Reading, art, music, and outdoor play are all a part of the toddlers' cognitive, physical, and emotional development.
Before and After School Care (Grades K through 8)
The Child Enrichment Center also provides before and after school care for the older students at Holy Spirit Episcopal School. While the children have the opportunity to work on homework during study hall, they can also participate in a variety of activities such as outdoor play, visit with friends, arts and crafts, indoor games and movies.
Enrichment Programs
A variety of enrichment programs are offered to Holy Spirit students through the Child Enrichment Center. These programs include karate, piano, tumbling, dance, computer, judo and "Marvelous Math" and depending on the program are open to students from 18 months to eighth grade. These programs allow the children to participate in extracurricular activities in a supervised setting.
Summer Program
Our summer program features fun and excitement for kids of all ages! The summer program offers field trips, arts and crafts, and outdoor activities on the campus of Holy Spirit Episcopal School. |
