Physical education is an integral part of the total educational program at Holy Spirit. Its contribution to enhancing individual potential is realized through a variety of functional, expressive and creative movement experiences and health education.
The purpose and intent of movement education is to develop a broad scope of movement abilities through individualized, success-oriented experiences. Various teams and individualized sports are utilized.
All lower and middle school classes have fitness five days per week, which includes muscle toning and flexibility exercises.
The physical education program for the older students has four major emphases: to help students move in a skillful and effective manner in the chosen activities, to develop an understanding and appreciation of movement, to develop better interpersonal relationships, and to develop physical health. The school will accomplish these goals through games, physical fitness, tests, team play and cooperative sports.
